I have been sitting at the Google Apps for Education: Alberta Summit for the last two days, and to say the least my brain is full. So many ideas about integrating technology into the classroom using Google docs, forms, spreadsheets, blogs and other great sites for students to collaborate, create and learn!
In creating this site, I'm not sure what it will turn out to be... Hopefully a reflection of my journey as a new(er) teacher, while trying to balance my need for other activities in my life. I love to craft. I love to create. I love to hang out with friends and family. I love to be active (my husband will attest to the fact that I do not sit and relax very well... something maybe I'll get good at someday).
I don't know who will read this either... but a few of the things that have sparked my interest and creativity this week have been:
- Google Art Project - LOVE THIS! You can take a close look at over 30,000 pieces of art around the world, and walk through many famous art galleries.
- Google Hangout - I didn't know about this before... But I think it would be fun to hangout or skype with people into my classroom. What an awesome opportunity for guest speakers and allow even more collaboration for my students! Any takers? :)
- Digital Teacher Network - Here's a link to a local Edmonton teacher's site filled with great ideas on how to use Google Docs in the classroom
I'd love any feedback. How are you using Google docs and apps in your classroom? Or in your life to create a more creative and collaborative environment?
